Information Evening Circle with Thomas Clark
Trust, reliability, vulnerability – what do you expect from a friend, and how can you show these qualities to a friend? Friendship is the theme of this circle – an event for members who value listening and openness, and who are seeking ideas and inspiration. Starting with a short meditation, we will then form groups of three for brief discussions; experiences from these can be shared within the Circle. Our club member Thomas Clark will lead the Circle – and looks forward to welcoming participants who wish to get to know other members better. Mindfulness and time management will ensure that everyone has a chance to speak, whilst keeping the session from running too long. The Circle itself lasts 60–90 minutes, followed by time for a relaxed get-together

Between "Help us" and "Hands off"
Between “Help us” and “Hands off” – a look back at 45 years of German policy on Africa
For years, African academics have been criticising Western development aid under the slogan “Dead Aid”. Germany, meanwhile, claims to run the world’s largest development organisation through the GIZ.
Dr Peter Woeste looks back on more than four decades of personal experience in the tension between cooperation and self-reliance: as early as 1980, he was an exchange student in South Africa, and later served as German ambassador to Malawi and Rwanda, among other posts. Today, he lives and works as a safari entrepreneur in Zambia.
