Meet Berlin - Beautiful, quirky, unsparing - Berliner Schlaglichter

“Meet Berlin” is the new offshoot of ‘Meet the Press’ with Thomas Kausch. Strictly Berlin. We meet thinkers and doers who still and always make this city exciting. Fashion designers, chefs, artists, influencers, start-up founders. Or (almost) all in one like Prof Dr Ulrich Seibert, who covers the whole spectrum of Berlin life. Politics, finance, techno, clubs and art: if you only hang out in one scene in Berlin, you've lost, says Seibert. His books are called “Berliner Schlaglichter” (Berlin Highlights). Small aperçus, snatched party dialogs, sometimes witty small talk, sometimes biting anecdotes, sometimes cultivated rhetoric. In the end, everyone feels offended, but otherwise it would be boring.

Prof Dr Ulrich Seibert is an art collector, Facebook philosopher, business law professor, investor, actor in low-budget films, friend of lively small talk and, as he emphasizes, a very serious man. And as such, of course, also a club member.

Look forward to a refreshingly exuberant evening in the Officers Bar with Prof Dr Ulrich Seibert and Thomas Kausch.

The Elms School invites you

We are looking forward to having the Headmaster, Ed Lyddon, visit us and together with Aurora Mercer host an information evening for our club members with younger children. The main topic will be an introduction to the prestigious prep school, The Elms, located in the beautiful county of Herfordshire.

The Elms' mission is not just to be an ordinary prep school with high academic standards, but also to extend childhood. Nature, exceptional sporting opportunities and a first-class music program are at the forefront.

Fun Fact: The Headmaster, Ed Lydon, remembers attending our club as a child with his father and is particularly looking forward to returning.

We are looking forward to an interesting prasentation with light refreshments.

Paths to personal development - Series of events with Wolf-Dietrich Groß

We are what we have learned to be

Discover new ways to achieve greater serenity, self-confidence and satisfaction in our three-part series of events with experienced coach Wolf-Dietrich Groß. For over 20 years, Mr. Groß has been helping managers, individuals and teams to independently find sustainable solutions to their personal and professional challenges. The focus is not on conventional tools, but on empowering participants to help themselves - especially in the areas of stress and anxiety management.

2nd theme evening: We are what we have learned to be
Date: October 14, 2024, 7:00 PM

As children and young people, we learn from our role models, parents, relatives and teachers how we should behave, conduct ourselves and communicate. This is the task of education, because those with experience should show us the way in life.

However, not everything we have accepted helps us to cope with everyday life. If we have the courage and willingness to change, we can still learn new ways and reshape our previous experiences even in old age.

At this interactive themed evening, coach

Wolf-Dietrich Groß will share ideas on how and with what results new learning can succeed.

Registration: Please register by October 13, 2024.

Costs: The participation fee for the event is 15.00 euros.

Further theme evenings:
September 26, 2024: Learning to say no - Boundaries as self-protection

November 14, 2024: Being allowed to be emotional - The power of feelings

Three Meditations: Technical "Twin revolution" and the movement of body and soul as path to lifelong fitness

In this exciting panel discussion on October 31, Uta Pippig and Prof. Dr. Eckard Minx will talk about the need for physical and mental fitness in a rapidly advancing world and the challenges that come with it.

Experience how our speakers draw on their diverse experiences and perspectives to talk about the importance of flexibility and speed in everyday life. These skills are essential to successfully navigate the exponential developments in technology and society. Both will reflect from their different life circumstances in order to describe what they have in common - the highest level of personality and physical and mental fitness - as one of their goals and then achieve this through “sensual contemplation”.

The event also invites you to exercise, meditate and engage in a stimulating exchange of ideas.

You can look forward to an inspiring event in a relaxed atmosphere, full of new impulses and an enriching exchange.
