Africa is poor and people live in trees ... well, since Germans started flooding Kenya, Tanzania, and South Africa during the winter months, these absurd prejudices have lost credibility. However, Germans stubbornly ignore the fact that African countries have already overtaken individual European countries in terms of economic and technological development.
We should get used to the idea that Africa will assume outstanding geopolitical importance in about 20 years.
The course has long been set. So there is every reason for us to take a more serious look at our southern neighbors .
 
Inge Herbert heads the Sub-Saharan Africa regional office of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation in Johannesburg, South Africa. The fully qualified lawyer and Executive MBA graduate is one of Table.Media's Top 100 and 
has been working for more than 20 years in international organizations and non-governmental organizations in Sub-Saharan Africa. She is an "Officer de l'Ordre National" of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire.

Anyone who not only enjoys reading books, but equally enjoys discussing them, is invited to attend the Book Club meeting, which is held on the second Thursday of every month.

Andreas Mundt - President Bundeskartellamt

We are delighted to welcome Andreas Mundt, President of the Federal Cartel Office, to a special lecture evening on Tuesday, 10 March at 7 p.m.
He has been at the helm of the Federal Cartel Office since 2009 and has had a significant influence on German and European competition policy. In his lecture, he will take an informed and personal look at key issues of our time: Are we experiencing a new phase of monopolism worldwide? What role does artificial intelligence play in markets and regulation? How does US policy influence global competition? And what significance do data, digital platforms and corporations such as Google have for the work of the Cartel Office?
The evening promises exciting first-hand insights, clear analyses and food for thought on the major economic policy challenges of our time. Following the lecture, we cordially invite questions from the audience and an open exchange.

Linus Härle & Yossi Reshef

As part of a musically accompanied festival presentation, the founders of the Berlin Piano Festival introduce their fully privately funded project: the 19-year-old pianist Linus Härle together with his professor, the internationally renowned Israeli pianist Yossi Reshef.

At the heart of the evening are the vision, the artistic program, and the organizational foundation of the Berlin Piano Festival 2027 – a young and innovative festival. Live piano performances will offer an immediate and personal encounter with classical music and the artistic concept behind the festival.

We are very much looking forward to the piano recital by the exceptionally talented young artist Linus Härle, whose sensitive yet powerful playing is already receiving considerable acclaim.

Following the concert, we cordially invite you to a reception, offering the opportunity for personal conversations, exchange with the artists, and a convivial close to the evening.
