‘Baltic Insights’ - Evening of dialogue with the ambassadors of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania

In cooperation with the German-Baltic Future Foundation, we welcome the Ambassadors of the Republics of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, H.E. Marika Linntam, H.E. Alda Vanaga and H.E. Giedrius Puodžiūnas, for a discussion on current security policy developments in Europe - from a Baltic perspective. The moderator will be Mrs Rozite Ponne, Head of the Latvian Country Office of the Future Foundation.

Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania are actively involved in European security and defence policy issues, particularly with regard to the situation in North-Eastern Europe and the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine. Our guests will talk to us about whether European nuclear weapons are necessary to secure the Baltic region (and thus the entire EU), how Europe can effectively defend itself in cyberspace and what concrete contributions are necessary and realistic to support Ukraine.

Our Baltic friends and partners have been members of the EU and NATO since 2004. They have been pointing out the need for action to (re)establish our defence capability and its importance for the credibility of our deterrence and thus for reducing the probability of an attack on NATO territory for much longer than their Western European allies. They are committed and consistent in their advocacy for Europe to consistently support Ukraine in its own interests.

Following the discussion, you will have the opportunity for a direct exchange with Ms Linntam, Ms Vanaga and Mr Puodžiūnas.

CANCELLED: Art&Dreams - Creative workshop for children

Unfortunately, this workshop will not take place due to insufficient registrations.

In this unique workshop, Charlotte Klasen, former professional tennis player and current artist, shares her many years of experience with children in an inspiring way.

In a playful and creative way, the children discover how they can pursue their dreams and achieve their own goals - always with a focus on joy, self-awareness and personal growth. In the process, they learn how the mental power and understanding of our brain can support them in everyday life.

At the end, the children not only take home their own work of art, but also a personalized book from Charlotte - a valuable companion for their further development. A workshop full of inspiration with a long-term effect!

The event is for children aged 8-12.

Im Jahr des Drachen - Andreas Jorns Photographer

We are looking forward to a very special artist, who will of course also come to Berlin as part of his tour of Germany and present his work in our club. The renowned photographer Andreas Jorns will present his new illustrated book "In the Year of the Dragon" as part of his lecture "Bleibt alles anders". This illustrated book differs significantly from what Andreas Jorns has done so far and it is about his photographic development. Andreas Jorns, born in 1966, has made a name for himself as a portrait and nude photographer. He is the author of three specialist books and publishes his own illustrated books. In February 2025, his ninth illustrated book entitled "In the Year of the Dragon" will be published.

Andreas Jorns photographed everything with Leica and we are particularly looking forward to Leica supporting the project with cameras that our members can try out.

At the end of 2023, Andreas Jorns announced that he would no longer publish his work on social media. Instead, he publishes a newspaper twice a year with the title "einBlick", which he distributes free of charge to all interested parties on this day.

In addition to his artistic work, Andreas Jorns is increasingly involved in socio-political projects. Among other things, with older people, but also with young people.

Confrontation instead of fighting - dealing with conflicts differently

The third evening of coach Wolf-Dietrich Groß's new series of events is dedicated to the topic of

“Confrontation instead of fighting - dealing with conflicts differently”.

Confrontations arise from different points of view, but do not have to end in conflict - if they are dealt with respectfully and constructively.

Coach Mr. Groß shows how we can approach confrontations courageously without provoking power struggles. Those who avoid confrontation out of fear are often overlooked and not taken seriously. Yet confrontations are essential for strengthening stable relationships - both professionally and privately.

Learn how to use conflict as an opportunity to take your relationships to a new level.

Costs: The participation fee for the event is 15.00 euros.

Growing up - the inner child in us

The second evening of coach Wolf-Dietrich Groß's new series of events is dedicated to the topic of

“Growing up - the inner child in us”.

When do we stop developing as people and personalities? At the age of 18, when we are allowed to choose? When we make a commitment or become parents? Or perhaps when we feel we have grown up and are able to have stable relationships?

Coach Mr. Groß will guide you through this exciting event in which we will address these questions. A part of us always remains a child - in our memories and experiences. This inner child belongs to us for a lifetime, but it should no longer set the tone. Because now we are adults.

It's about symbolically taking off our children's shoes in order to stand on stable feet as adults - with a firm footing on solid ground. Discover how you can actively shape your personal development.

Costs: The participation fee for the event is 15.00 euros.

Goodbye perfectionism - ways to develop your personality

The first evening of the new series of events by coach Wolf-Dietrich Groß is dedicated to the topic “Goodbye perfectionism - learning satisfaction”.

Perfectionists are rarely satisfied with their performance as they always have the feeling that it could have been “even better”. This striving leads to endless tweaking of details, while other needs take a back seat. The result: a lack of time, exhaustion and unfulfilled expectations - also towards other people.

But this behavior is learned and can be changed. Wolf-Dietrich Groß uses practical approaches to show how it is possible to relearn in order to gain a better quality of life and more satisfaction.

Costs: The participation fee for the event is 15.00 euros.
